GAC Aion Opens First Dealership in Makati, Philippines, Showcases Aion Y Plus and Aion ES

GAC Aion officially opened its first store in Makati, Philippines, with the unveiling of the Aion Y Plus and the Aion ES, which will be sold in the market firstly.

Showroom Features

The flagship showroom AION MAKATI marked Aion’s enter into the Philippine market. Covering an area of 1,420 square meters, the showroom is serving as a one-stop car purchase and after-service experience center. There is a spacious display room, which is able to showcase 6 models at one time. Otherwise, the showroom is equipped with four charging stations, including two fast-charging stations.

Market Potential

Philippine auto market is the fourth biggest auto market in ASEAN, and has great potentials for NEVs development: 1) a larger population base; 2) a prosperous passenger cars’ market with a year-on-year increase of 17.8% in H1 2024; 3) the Philippine government encourages the development of NEVs by introducing the "National Electric Vehicle Development Roadmap", as well as extended its tax exemption on EV imports until 2028.

All the favorable incentives presents a vast growth opportunities for Aion. On the same day, Aion announced its cooperation with dealerships in three Philippine cities.

Global Market Presence

According to the World EV Sales Report July, Aion secured the eleventh place in the top auto brands in world in EV sales with a total of 190,729 units sold globally from January to July.
