GAC Aion Y Plus Arrives in Indonesia
The GAC Aion Y Plus, an all-electric SUV sells at $25,200 in Indonesia.
GAC’s Aion brand officially released its Indonesia strategy on June 22nd through a launch conference held in Jakarta, where the Aion Y Plus was introduced into the Indonesian market with two trims namely Exclusive (410KM range) and Premium (490KM range) that cost between 415.000.000 and 475.000.000 IDR ($25.200 – $28.900).
About Aion Y Plus
Thirteen different models of the Aion Y Plus are currently on sale in China at prices ranging between 99,800-189,800 yuan ($13,700-$26,100). It uses the AEP 2.0 platform and has dimensions of 4535/1870/1650 mm and a wheelbase of 2750 mm.
The cabin features GAC’s ADiGO Space smart cockpit with a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel, 14.6-inch central control screen wrapped by leather three-spoke steering wheel. Audio system includes 6 speakers supporting in-car karaoke.
In terms of powertrain, it has two options: 100 kW (134 hp) or 150 kW with a maximum speed of 130km/h. It’s equipped with lithium iron phosphate and/or ternary lithium battery packs, which have capacities between 37.9 to 69.98 kWh; four kinds of CLTC cruising range are available as follows: 310km, 430km, 510km, 610km.
Aion: Powering Global Expansion
From now on, Aion NEV brand under GAC Group seems to be speeding up its global development. There are already enters Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, which are part of ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) markets. The company also plans on constructing 7 overseas production bases and sales bases in Europe, the Middle East Pacific Asia as well as other areas around world, aiming 19 countries or regions ultimately.
Next month will see the start of operations at GAC Aion’s Thailand factory. In addition, a second overseas plant for GAC Aion is being built in Indonesia.
