Geely Galaxy A7 Debuts with Thor AI Hybrid 2.0, 2,100+ km Range  


Geely unveiled the Galaxy A7 plug-in hybrid sedan on June 19, marking the first model on its GEA electric architecture. The vehicle features the Thor AI Hybrid 2.0 system and Flyme Auto smart cockpit. Its EM-i powertrain combines a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine (82 kW, 136 N·m) with electric motors, delivering over 2,100 km of comprehensive range. Mass production begins in Q3 2025.  



Chery Arrizo 8 PRO Launches at RMB 116,900 (USD 16,200)  


Chery launched the refreshed Arrizo 8 PRO sedan on June 19, offering six trims priced between RMB 116,900 (USD 16,200) and RMB 149,900 (USD 20,800). The range-topping 2.0T variant produces 187 kW and 390 N·m, paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. Standard tech includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip enabling 99% accurate voice control for navigation, climate, and seating adjustments.  



Xiaomi Secures Land for Third EV Plant in Beijing  


Xiaomi Jingxi Technology acquired a 485,100 sqm industrial plot in Beijing’s Yizhuang district for RMB 635 million (USD 88.2 million) on June 19. Adjacent to Xiaomi’s second EV factory, the site is expected to host its third production facility to address capacity constraints. Industry analysts project total annual output exceeding 400,000 units post-completion, supporting SU7 and YU7 demand.  



BYD M9 PHEV Set for June 25 Mexico Debut  


BYD will premiere the M9 plug-in hybrid MPV in Mexico on June 25. As the export version of the BYD Xia, the seven-seater features a 1.5T PHEV system. Specifications remain undisclosed, but the model targets Latin America’s growing premium people-mover segment.
