Geely Galaxy M9: A Tech Flagship Redefining "M"



Galaxy, Geely’s EV sub-brand, will release its six-seat flagship SUV, the M9, on May 22, positioned as a convergence of next-gen mobility tech, supposed to rivals with the Li Auto L9 and AITO M9 in China’s premium family SUV segment.


The "M" signifies Master (craftsmanship), Mountain (peak innovation), and Moment (user-centric experiences). The M9 is made to symbolize quality, AI innovation, and smart cabin experiences.


Key Tech Specs:


- G-Pilot: The G-Pilot intelligent driver assistance system aims L3 autonomous driving assistance, combining visual hardware, such as lidar, and powerful computing capabilities supported by NVIDIA chips, the car is capable of urban/highway Navigate-on-Pilot.


- EM Super Hybrid System: The System has a world leading thermal efficiency of 46.5%, offering pure-electric range of 200km, and a comprehensive range of 1200 km.


- AI Cabin: The cabin features Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip, holographic HUD, and Geely’s self-developed "Galaxy AI Digital Assistant”.



Xiaomi YU7: A 691 HP Electric Challenger


Xiaomi Auto’s first SUV, the YU7, is set to debut on May 22. Learned from MIIT certification, the model measures 4,999 mm long with a 3,000 mm wheelbase, targeting Tesla Model X and NIO ES8 buyers.


Powertrain Options:


- Dual-Motor AWD: 220 kW front + 288 kW rear motors (508 kW combined, 691 hp), top speed of 253 km/h.  


- Single-Motor RWD: 235 kW motor, 240 km/h top speed, using LFP battery.


Tech Highlights:


- Xiaomi HyperOS: the cabin is powered by Snapdragon 8295 chip, supporting seamless device integration (phones, smart home).


- Xiaomi Pilot Ultra: The autonomous driving assistant system is packed with 1x lidar, 3x Orin-X chips, and real-time road reconstruction.  


Pre-sales for the YU7 are rumored to start at RMB 350,000 (USD 48,600). What do you guess?
