With the launch of Tesla's Cybertruck deliveries in North America, pickup trucks are gaining popularity, particularly in China. The lifting of pickup bans in a number of Chinese cities contributes to the market's growth. In light of this tendency, Geely Radar has discovered rich potential for expansion.

The much anticipated Radar Horizon launched on April 23. The reveal is brilliant, with a series of advancements, including greater supercharging capabilities and two price cuts: the AIR 460km version for CNY 181,800, the MAX 460km version for CNY 209,800, and the AIR 520km version for CNY 221,800. New RD620 versions are priced at CNY 151,800 and CNY 199,800, respectively. Radical pricing is poised to transform the pickup market, with the tagline, "Electric is not only cheaper, but better than oil."

Positioned as "China's Cybertruck," Radar Horizon is designed with a strong emphasis on IoT, intelligence, comfort, body, and electrical safety. Most importantly, it pioneers smart discharging technology, resulting in a "Electric Era outdoors."

Expanding the Horizon of Outdoor Activities.

Radar Horizon attempts to provide diverse outdoor activities. It intends to change people's perceptions about pickup trucks by offering an innovative four-wheel benchmark for outdoor fun.

Radar Horizon, the brainchild of the M.A.P Radar Hanhai Platform, is China's first intelligent pickup, providing users with fascinating experiences. The Horizon's Geely Group heritage provides it with an impressive choice of drivetrain options, including pure electric, range extender, and plugin hybrids.

Superior performance, smart functions for optimal outdoor adventure.

The new newcomer can bear large payloads of up to 865kg, comfortably above the 38% industry standard, making it an ideal choice for outdoor exploration. Radar Horizon's maximum wading depth is 815 mm, confirming its position as a top 3-terrain player. It's similarly spectacular on the road, with the power of a 911 Porsche, and smart features enable exceptional interaction with a wide range of camping equipment, ushering in a new level of seamless integration into the camping environment.

Unveiling a New Era of Outdoor Electricity

With its powerful battery, Radar Horizon adds a new dimension to the outdoor experience. The 21 kW open circuit function is a world first, about twice the discharge capacity of the Tesla Cybertruck. Camping outside no longer means missing out on necessities; a single Radar Horizon can meet the electricity needs of two large families camping together, eliminating the need to plug and unplug various devices.

Venturing into the Internationals

Geely wants to expand Radar's international presence, with exports accounting for one-quarter to one-third of total sales. Radar Horizon is likely to take the lead, positioning itself as the focal point of Geely's major push for a global presence in the EV industry.

Concluding

Radar Horizon's introduction challenges the usual definition of a pickup. Radar adds variety and enjoyment to outdoor adventures by incorporating cutting-edge electric technology. As China's response to the Cybertruck, it is Geely's attempt to secure its position as a new energy pickup leader in both local and foreign markets. Geely and its brand Radar are looking forward to an exciting adventure as they capitalize on the possibilities of their new vehicle.
