HIMA’s First Coupe SUV Luxeed R7 Will Surpass BBA Brands, Yu Chengdong Said

^{On June 11th, Huawei's managing director and chairman of the intelligent vehicle solutions business unit, Richard Yu announced on Weibo that HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) is expecting its first coupe SUV, called Luxeed R7, a joint product between Huawei and Chery.}

^{The Luxeed R7 will be the second model under the Luxeed brand, the first model was Luxeed S7 sedan , which was launched the on November 28, 2023, and relaunched this April 11th, at Huawei's HarmonyOS eco spring communication event, with price drop.}

Superior to BBA Brands

As Yu disclosed that R represented “Revolution”, referring to break through and overturn. The Luxeed R7 will feature stylish and sporty fastback design, provide an unimaginably spacious interior. Powered by Huawei's cutting-edge smart technology, the car will definitely surpass traditional luxury BBA (known as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi) car brands in terms of product excellence.

Noteworthy Features

The car is expected to continue featuring the HUAWEI DriveONE 800V silicon carbide high-voltage power platform, with a maximum range exceeding 800km. We also learned from media that the Luxeed R7 will be quipped with 192-line lidar at the top as the AITO M9, which is known to be the industry's first lidar system with the highest point frequency, the highest number of lines, and the highest frame rate.

It is worth mentioning that, the Luxeed R7 will carry HUAWEI ADS 3.0 Advanced Intelligent Driving System, achieving a comprehensive enhancement in intelligent driving, smart parking, and active safety capabilities.

Market Expectations

According to an insider, the Luxeed R7’s price range will be between 300,000-40,000 CNY (41,000- 55,000 USD), and will be set to market in the third quarter this year. Based on the current known configurations, as a pure electric coupe SUV, the Luxeed R7 might redefine the industry standards for coupe SUVs.
