On June 18th, Maextro super factory held a celebration ceremony for the model’s first batch production, marking its enter into the mass production stage.
Maextro S800, co-built by JAC Group and Huawei, was officially launched on May 30th. The car secured 5,000 orders since the launch, which has already exceeded half-year sales volume of the BMW 7 Series. The delivery is close. According to the company, the S800 Pioneer Edition is scheduled to commence on 26th of June, and other variants in mid-August.
On the event, Xiang Xingchu, the Chairman of JAC Group, shared an exciting news that the company is accelerating the R&D of its second and third models.
In support of the launch of the upcoming models, JAC ang Huawei deepened their cooperation in a strategic agreement signed on June 17, for co-development on ADAS, smart cabins, and vehicle-cloud systems. JAC has assembled a team of over 5,000 people, gathering global top-tier talents in R&D and delivery sectors, to form a Shanghai R&D Center, and engaged in in-depth industry-academia-research cooperation with top Chinese universities and scientific research teams.
In manufacturing sector, the Maextro super factory is built with an annual output value of over 100 billion yuan after a full production. The factory features digital R&D, green and low-carbon intelligent manufacturing, and brand experience services. The factory uses 1,800 intelligent robots to work on the stamping, welding, painting, and assembly line.
