Wey Launches Pre-Sales for All-New Gaoshan MPV, Top Trim Priced at RMB 379,800

April 21 — Wey, Great Wall Motors' premium subsidiary, has opened pre-orders for its redesigned Gaoshan MPV, offering three variants: Gaoshan 7, 8, and 9. The range-topping Gaoshan 9 starts at RMB 379,800 (USD 51,900*), while the mid-tier Gaoshan 8 is priced at RMB 329,800 (USD 45,100*). The entry-level Gaoshan 7 will feature crowdsourced pricing, allowing buyers to influence its final cost. All models come standard with the Coffee Pilot Ultra ADAS, enabling mapless highway and urban navigation, alongside Great Wall’s Hi4 Performance plug-in hybrid system. The hybrid powertrain combines a 1.5T engine with dual motors, delivering 337 kW and 644 N•m of torque for a 5.7-second 0-100 km/h acceleration.  

Avatr 06 Debuts at RMB 191,900 Post-Subsidies with Dual Powertrain Options  

April 21 — Avatr’s latest sedan, the 06, has officially launched with five variants spanning BEV and EREV configurations. Post-subsidy pricing begins at RMB 191,900 (USD 26,300*). The BEV version features CATL’s 800V ultra-fast charging battery, achieving a 650 km CLTC range and 30-80% charge in 10 minutes. Its dual-motor variant produces 440 kW, enabling a 3.9-second 0-100 km/h sprint. The EREV model pairs a 1.5T range extender with a 230 km pure-electric range, offering a total endurance of 1,190 km at a fuel-sipping 5.36L/100km in charge-sustaining mode.  

CITIC: U.S. Auto Tariffs Pose Limited Threat to Chinese Manufacturers  

April 21 — CITIC Securities analysts downplayed risks from U.S. tariffs (55%-200% on Chinese vehicles), noting domestic automakers have negligible direct exports to America. Auto parts suppliers maintain under 10% exposure, primarily through indirect channels. Two-wheeler makers are countering tariffs via accelerated Mexican production and U.S. factory expansions, according to the report. The brokerage emphasized that China’s auto sector remains insulated due to its focus on emerging markets and localized supply chains.  

Buick Unveils "Electra" Luxury EV Sub-Brand and Modular Platform  

April 21 — SAIC-GM’s Buick has introduced Electra, its premium electrified sub-brand, alongside theall-new Buick Xiaoyao Super Architecture capable of producing MPVs, SUVs, and sedans with BEV, PHEV, or EREV powertrains across FWD, RWD, and AWD layouts. The platform will spawn six new models within 12 months, targeting affluent buyers seeking customizable luxury EVs.
