Xpeng Equips All Models with L2 ADAS as G7 Presales Hit 10,000 in 46 Minutes  

XPeng announced full-range L2 autonomous driving capability during its June 11 G7 SUV global debut. The G7 opened presales at RMB 235,800 (USD 32,800), securing 10,000 reservations within 46 minutes. Chairman He Xiaopeng confirmed the L2 rollout at the Hong Kong Auto Expo on June 12, adding that all XPeng models entering Hong Kong in 2026 will feature advanced ADAS.  

Geely Unveils Thor AI Hybrid 2.0 System with 48.15% Methanol Engine Efficiency  

On June 13, Geely launched its Thor AI Hybrid 2.0 system under the Xingrui AI Cloud Powertrain 2.0 platform. The multi-path technology includes:  

- EM-i hybrid engines achieving 47.26% thermal efficiency and 2.49L/100km fuel consumption in hybrid mode  

- EM-P supporting tri-motor configurations for full-size vehicles  

- EF methanol engines reaching 48.15% thermal efficiency with superior cold-start performance  

Two methanol-powered models (one sedan, one SUV) will debut in Q4 2025.  

Seres Patents AI-Driven Risk Source Identification for Autonomous Driving  

Seres Auto obtained a patent for “Autonomous Driving Risk Source Identification Method, Device, Equipment and Medium,” per Tianyancha IP records. The system rapidly pinpoints risk origins (e.g., erratic pedestrians, obscured signage) using multi-sensor fusion and scenario simulation, enabling real-time safety decisions in complex road conditions.  

Global NEV Sales Rise 24% in May as China Tops 1 Million Units  

Rho Motion reported 1.6 million global NEV sales in May (+24% YoY), driven by China’s 1.02 million deliveries. Growth offset slowdowns in North America, where sales grew just 3.7% YTD.
