XPeng's Gu Hongdi Anticipates "Very Strong" Growth for 2026

Brian Gu, Vice Chairman and Co-President of XPeng Motors, stated on January 27 that he expects the company to achieve "very strong" growth this year. "The sales growth rate in overseas markets may surpass that of the domestic market," Gu added. When questioned about market speculation regarding the potential Hong Kong listing of its flying car business within the year, Gu declined to comment but expressed being "very excited" about the low-altitude economy. Industry analysis suggests this optimistic outlook is underpinned by multiple factors, including increased deliveries of new models, accelerated commercialization of its intelligent driving technology, and the continued deepening of its overseas market expansion.

Chery RELY R08EV All-Electric Pickup Launches from RMB 127,800

Chery Automobile launched its first all-electric pickup truck, the RELY R08EV, on January 27. The model is offered in six variants with a price range of RMB 127,800 to RMB 158,800 (approximately USD 18,300–22,700). As Chery's inaugural battery-electric pickup, it features a body-on-frame chassis structure and is available in both single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive configurations. The single-motor RWD version delivers a maximum power of 150 kW and peak torque of 350 N·m, achieving 0-100 km/h acceleration in 8.8 seconds. The dual-motor AWD variant boosts combined output to 300 kW and 540 N·m, cutting the 0-100 km/h sprint time down to 5.0 seconds, positioning it competitively in the emerging electric pickup segment.

Spy Shots Reveal AITO M6, Set for Launch in 2026

The latest spy shots of the upcoming AITO M6 have surfaced, revealing key design and feature details. Positioned between the AITO M5 and M7 in the brand's lineup, the new model will feature a large five-seat layout. Visible roof-mounted hardware confirms it will be equipped with at least one LiDAR sensor and is expected to host Huawei's latest Qiankun advanced driver-assistance system (ADS). The vehicle continues the family's design language with a closed-off front grille, split-type LED headlights, and sporty lower air intakes. Additional exterior elements include flush door handles, multi-spoke alloy wheels, and red brake calipers. Reports indicate the M6 will likely be built on Huawei's Giant Whale 800V high-voltage platform, offering both extended-range (EREV) and pure electric (BEV) powertrain options with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive capabilities.
