Xpeng Reports VLA Intelligent Driving Mileage Breakthrough
On May 8, Xpeng Motors announced that one month after the rollout of its second-generation VLA (Vision Language Architecture), the proportion of intelligent assisted driving mileage has exceeded 50%. This metric indicates that "AI drivers" now lead more than half of the total distance driven in real-world scenarios. Efficiency has also improved, with the number of interventions per 100 kilometers dropping by 25.87% month-on-month, while trips completed 100% using VLA grew by 27.84%.
During the "May Day" holiday, the daily utilization rate of Xpeng’s AI assisted driving reached 93.21%, with a cumulative mileage of 84.46 million kilometers, while the longest single-vehicle smart driving distance during this period reached 5,441 kilometers.
Huajing S Launches with Comprehensive Huawei Intelligence
The Huajing S, a flagship six-seater SUV co-developed by SAIC-GM-Wuling and Huawei Qiankun, officially launched on May 8. The vehicle is offered at a "super exchange price" ranging from RMB 149,800 (USD 21,700) to RMB 193,800 (USD 28,100). It comes standard with the Huawei Qiankun ADS Pro enhanced version, HarmonySpace 5, and Huawei’s Limera laser vision system. Notably, the model debuts a full-stack Qiankun car-cloud digital key, allowing for sensorless locking and unlocking regardless of the smartphone brand used. Besides, the integration of "Sentry Mode Enhanced" allows users to monitor the vehicle's surroundings in real-time via their smartphones.
Technically, the Huajing S features the CAS 4.0 all-dimensional anti-collision system with 23 active safety capabilities. The two-wheel-drive version reports a fuel consumption of 5.98L/100km under battery-depleted conditions, with a total range exceeding 1,100km. Equipped with 3.5C fast charging, the vehicle can replenish its battery from 10% to 60% in just 12 minutes.
AUDI E7X Starts Pre-sale with L3 Autonomous Roadmap
AUDI officially opened pre-sales for the E7X on May 8, with five configurations priced between a limited-time RMB 289,800 (USD 42,000) and RMB 379,800 (USD 55,000). The "Pioneer Intelligent Long-range" and "Four-seater Flagship quattro" versions feature a new CATL 109kWh high-energy battery, achieving a CLTC comprehensive range of 751km. All models are built on a 900V high-voltage platform, capable of adding 429 kilometers of range with a 10-minute charge.
The E7X utilizes the Momenta reinforcement learning large model for full-scenario assisted driving. Furthermore, the model is slated to become the first Audi vehicle—and the first for Momenta—to feature L3 autonomous driving capabilities in the future. This technological leap positions the E7X as a central product in Audi's intelligent transformation, combining traditional luxury performance with the latest breakthroughs in autonomous software.
GAC Group Announces April Production and Sales Growth
GAC Group released its April 2026 performance report on May 6, announcing a production volume of 133,900 units, a 23.28% year-on-year increase. Sales for the month reached 121,000 units, growing 3.88% compared to the previous year. Cumulative sales for the first four months of 2026 totaled 500,900 units, representing a 2.74% year-on-year increase. The group’s new energy vehicle (NEV) segment continues to outpace overall market growth. In April, GAC sold 54,600 NEVs, a significant 57.39% surge year-on-year.
