BYD Reports First Quarter Financial Results for 2026
On April 28, BYD released its financial report for the first quarter of 2026, revealing a total operating revenue of RMB 150.23 billion (USD 21.77 billion), representing a year-on-year decrease of 11.82%. Net profit attributable to shareholders reached RMB 4.09 billion (USD 590 million), a decline of 55.38% compared to the same period in 2025. After deducting non-recurring gains and losses, the company’s net profit stood at RMB 4.15 billion (USD 600 million), down 49.24%. Basic earnings per share were reported at RMB 0.4480, reflecting a 56.89% year-on-year drop.
BYD Han EV Flash Charge Edition Market Entry
Simultaneously with its financial report, BYD launched the Han EV Flash Charge Edition on April 28. The new series includes two variants with a price range of RMB 179,800 (USD 26,100) to RMB 187,800 (USD 27,200). The primary upgrade is the integration of second-generation Blade battery technology and advanced flash-charging capabilities. Under standard temperatures, the vehicle can charge from 10% to 70% state-of-charge (SOC) in 5 minutes, and 10% to 97% SOC in 9 minutes. Even in extreme cold conditions of -30°C, the charging duration only increases by 3 minutes.
The Han EV Flash Charge Edition introduces twelve core upgrades across performance, intelligence, and comfort. The intelligent driving suite now supports autonomous highway lane changes, automatic overtaking, and ETC non-inductive passage. The smart parking system covers over 300 scenarios, including offset parking and "out-of-car" parking. According to BYD, an advanced version equipped with Lidar is available as an option, enabling city-level assistance for traffic light recognition, unprotected turns, and congested traffic navigation.
GAC Aion N60 Launch
On April 28, GAC Aion officially launched its compact pure electric SUV, the N60, with three configurations priced at a limited-time exchange rate of RMB 106,800 (USD 15,500) to RMB 126,800 (USD 18,400). The N60 features a 4D millimeter-wave radar and Lidar as standard equipment across all trims. It utilizes an end-to-end AI large model derived from WeRide's L4 technology to support full-scenario intelligent driving. Powered by the Quark Drive 2.0 system, the N60 achieves a maximum output of 165kW and a CLTC range of up to 610km, with power consumption as low as 11.7 kWh per 100 km.
Arcfox Wendao V9 Starts Pre-sale
The Arcfox Wendao V9 began its pre-sale on the same day with a subsidy price range of RMB 219,900 (USD 31,900) to RMB 286,900 (USD 41,600). This flagship MPV features a 7-seat layout and a 77% interior space utilization rate. Built on the Polaris Architecture, it is equipped with the Huawei "Snow Owl" intelligent range-extender system. The Wendao V9 utilizes the Yuanjing assistant driving system for urban and highway NOA and supports CATL Freevoy batteries, achieving a comprehensive range of 1,330km and a 15-minute charge for 20% to 80% capacity.
