Chery Launches New Tiggo 9 with All-Terrain Intelligent Architecture
On April 22, Chery officially launched the new generation Tiggo 9, offering four variants with limited-time equity pricing ranging from RMB 146,900 (USD 21,300) to RMB 166,900 (USD 24,200). The vehicle debuts the Mars Core MIND architecture, which Chery defines as its first fully integrated and sustainably iterative platform specifically for internal combustion vehicles. The SUV features the Lingxi Intelligent Cockpit 2.0, powered by a standard Qualcomm Snapdragon 8255 chip to ensure high-speed system processing.
According to Chery, the Tiggo 9 is powered by the Kunpeng 2.0T engine paired with a second-generation Kunpeng 8AT transmission. This powertrain delivers a maximum power output of 192kW and a peak torque of 400N·m.
Voyah Taishan X8 Starts Pre-sale with Huawei Intelligence
Voyah officially commenced the global pre-sale of its flagship large five-seat SUV, the Taishan X8, on April 22. The pre-sale price range is set between RMB 302,900 (USD 43,900) and RMB 389,900 (USD 56,500). The Taishan X8 is the industry's first model to feature the Huawei HarmonyOS Cockpit 5.2 and dual 15.6-inch integrated screens. It offers a usable interior cabin area of 6.1 square meters, which Voyah claims is the largest for a five-seat SUV in the Chinese market. Hardware specifications for the Taishan X8 include the 8-series Huawei Qiankun intelligent driving solution, featuring a four-Lidar array. This includes a high-definition 896-line image-grade Lidar, currently the highest specification for mass-produced vehicles globally. According to Voyah, the vehicle also includes unique comfort features such as a "one-button bed" function and the industry's first mechanical kneading massage seats.
Avatr 06T Launch and High-Performance Electrical Data
The Avatr 06T officially reached the market on April 22, with an official price range of RMB 219,900 (USD 31,900) to RMB 279,900 (USD 40,600). As a new product under the 2.0 strategic cooperation between Avatr and Huawei, the 06T comes standard with the Huawei Qiankun ADS suite. The MAX and Performance versions utilize the ADS Max system, supported by the 896-line Lidar and the WEWA perception architecture to provide high-precision environmental awareness and "human-like" decision-making capabilities. In terms of performance, the Avatr 06T is equipped with the Taihang distributed electric drive system as standard across all trims. The top-tier Performance variant achieves a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 2.78 seconds. This system allows for precise body control through active torque adjustment between the left and right wheels.
Horizon Robotics Unveils Integrated Starry 6P Chip
On April 22, Horizon Robotics announced the "Starry 6P," a 5nm automotive-grade chip that integrates both cockpit and driving functions, expected to enter mass production in the third quarter of 2026. The processor delivers 650 TOPS of computing power with a memory bandwidth of 273 GB/s. This integrated approach is projected to reduce per-vehicle costs by RMB 1,500 (USD 200) to RMB 4,000 (USD 600) by eliminating the need for separate domain controllers. Horizon Robotics confirmed that the chip has already secured cooperation intentions from major automotive manufacturers and suppliers, such as BYD, BAIC, Changan, Volkswagen, etc.
Simultaneously, the company launched "KaKaClaw," a vehicle agent operating system that supports continuous voice dialogue and automated navigation planning. This OS is scheduled to debut on the Chery iCar V27. According to Horizon Robotics, the KaKaClaw system will be open for adaptation to other mainstream platforms, including those from Nvidia and Qualcomm.
