BYD Deploys 7 of 8 Planned Ro-Ro Vessels for Global Operations  


Recently, BYD confirmed during an institutional briefing that seven of its eight planned roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) vessels are now operational, enhancing its global logistics capabilities. The automaker currently operates across 112 countries and regions, ranking first in new energy vehicle sales during H1 2025 in Italy, Turkey, Spain, and Brazil.



Proton Launches First EV Factory in Malaysia with Geely Support  


Proton Holdings Bhd., partially owned by Geely Holding Group, commenced production at its first dedicated electric vehicle plant in Tanjung Malim, Perak. Developed jointly with DRB-Hicom Group as part of an "Automotive High-Tech Valley" initiative, the RM82 million (USD 19.4 million) facility has an initial annual capacity of 20,000 units, expandable to 45,000. The factory will produce the Proton e.MAS7 model, marking a strategic pivot toward electrification for Malaysia’s historic automaker and leveraging Geely’s EV architecture and manufacturing expertise.



2026 Avatr 07 Opens Pre-sales with Huawei ADS 4 Upgrade  


Avatr launched pre-sales for the 2026 07 midsize SUV, offering six variants (three EREV and three BEV) across Elite, Max+, and Ultra trims yesterday. The facelifted model will receive an OTA upgrade to Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 4 autonomous driving system in September. Standard equipment includes three 4D imaging radars with 35% longer detection range, 4x higher precision, and enhanced low-light performance to eliminate "phantom braking." The new CATL Xiaoyao Super Hybrid Battery (52 kWh) enables 333km CLTC pure-electric range and 1,200km comprehensive range.
