Fangchengbao Launches Bao 8 and Bao 5 Flash Charge Editions

On May 13, 2026, BYD’s professional personalized brand, Fangchengbao, officially launched the Bao 8 Flash Charge Edition and the Bao 5 DiSus Flash Charge Edition. The Bao 8 Flash Charge Edition is priced at RMB 419,800 (USD 60,800), while the Bao 5 DiSus Flash Charge Edition enters the market at RMB 305,800 (USD 44,300). These new models are the first to feature BYD’s premium DiSus-P Ultra (云辇-P Ultra) intelligent hydraulic body control system, which integrates full-condition wheel lifting, all-scenario height adjustment, and all-terrain posture adaptation capabilities.

The DiSus-P Ultra system introduces several technical features, including airborne tire replacement, wheel-lift recovery, three-wheeled driving preservation, and ultra-high lift capacity. According to Fangchengbao, these features allow users to complete a tire change in 3 minutes, maintain stable vehicle movement on only three operational wheels, and execute independent lifts on all four wheels. Beyond the chassis control upgrades, both Flash Charge models are constructed on the DMO+ electric off-road platform, incorporating full-speed road perception control, second-generation Blade batteries with high-speed flash-charging technology, and high-level advanced driving assistance systems.

BYD Shark Pickup Integrates into Fangchengbao Portfolio

On May 13, Fangchengbao General Manager Xiong Tianbo confirmed that the BYD Shark pickup will formally enter the domestic market later this year. To align with BYD’s specialized brand structuring, the Shark has been officially integrated into the Fangchengbao vehicle sequence. The model was initially revealed globally in May 2024 during a launch event in Mexico, where it targeted international off-road and utility segments.

BYD Launches 2026 Seagull with Advanced Lidar Option

BYD has officially launched the 2026 Seagull EV, with standard configurations priced between RMB 69,900 (USD 10,100) and RMB 85,900 (USD 12,400). A primary development for this model year is the introduction of a Lidar-equipped optional package for the 305km Freedom Edition and the 405km Flying Edition. When selected, the package adjusts the total pricing of the respective variants to RMB 90,900 (USD 13,200) and RMB 97,900 (USD 14,200).

The Lidar hardware enables the integration of the "God's Eye B" advanced driver-assistance system (DiPilot 300). This suite delivers City Navigation on Autopilot (CNOA), which supports real-world autonomous functions including traffic light recognition with live countdown tracking, full-scenario obstacle negotiation with yielding, roundabout navigation, and active path rerouting during construction or road closures. Inside, the 2026 Seagull upgrades its technology interface with the high-tier DiLink 150 intelligent cockpit system, featuring an updated user interface displayed on a 12.8-inch floating DiLink pad.
