GAC Group Launches "Brazil Action" with Five NEV Models in São Paulo

GAC Motor unveiled its "One GAC 2.0" global strategy in Latin America with the debut of five new energy vehicles at São Paulo’s Anhembi Convention Center. The lineup includes the AION V and AION Y SUVs, HYPTEC HT MPV, GS4 HYBRID crossover, and AION ES sedan, targeting Brazil’s growing NEV market. The move aligns with Brazil’s 2030 green mobility goals and leverages local tax incentives for electrified vehicles. As for now, GAC established a dealership network of 33 shops covering main cities of Brazil. In order to cater to local costumers, GAC is planning to offer both hybrid and BEV models, and begin construction of plants in Brazil by 2026.



CPCA: China’s Auto Exports Hit 2.16M Jan-Apr, Up 15% YoY

China exported 2.16 million vehicles from January to April 2025, a 15% year-on-year increase, per CPCA Secretary-General Cui Dongshu. April exports alone reached 620,000 units (+12% YoY, +36% MoM), driven by competitive pricing and demand in Global South markets. Cui noted NEVs now constitute 40% of total exports during January to April period, up from 27% in 2024, as BYD and SAIC expand European footholds.  



XPeng MONA M03 Max to Launch May 28 with Instant Deliveries


XPeng announced its MONA M03 Max trim will debut on May 28 at a starting price of RMB 155,800 (USD 21,700), with deliveries commencing immediately. The top-spec variant is equipped with dual NVIDIA Orin-X chips, achieving a total computing power of 508Tops. Meanwhile, the MONA M03 Max is the only model in its price range that supports end-to-end large language models, offering urban intelligent driving assistance capabilities.



Refreshed NIO ET5/ET5T Launch from RMB 298,000 (USD 41,500)  


NIO’s updated ET5 sedan and ET5 Touring wagon hit markets on May 25, priced from RMB 298,000 (USD 41,500) outright or RMB 228,000 (USD 31,700) under battery leasing (BaaS) with monthly fees starting at RMB 728 (USD 101). The refresh introduces over 500 upgrades, including the NX9031 self-developed ADAS chip, and SkyOS 3.0 architecture. NIO’s NWM (NIO World Model) autonomous driving suite, enabling city-to-highway navigation without HD maps, will roll out via OTA in late June.
