Shanghai Port Exports 1.275 Million Vehicles in H1 2025

Shanghai Customs data reveals the port handled 1.275 million vehicle exports during the first half of 2025, marking a 13% year-on-year increase. This represents 36.7% of China’s total automotive exports during the period, consolidating Shanghai’s position as the nation’s top vehicle export hub. Since 2021, Shanghai Port annual exports have surged from 379,000 units in 2020 to 2.39 million in 2024, achieving a compound annual growth rate of 58.4%.



Beijing Off-Road Launches BJ40 Fuel SUV at RMB 126,900  


Beijing Off-Road has released the fuel-powered BJ40 SUV in three variants: gasoline standard (RMB 149,900 ≈USD 20,800), gasoline advanced (RMB 159,900 ≈USD 22,200), and diesel (RMB 159,900 ≈USD 22,200). A limited-time renewal price starting at RMB 126,900 (≈USD 17,600). The model features an embedded military-grade roll cage with 13 independent rigidity rings, utilizing 79.8% hot-stamped and high-strength steel. Its body-on-frame construction incorporates a dual-longitudinal/eight-transverse integrated beam structure designed to absorb collision energy while minimizing cabin deformation.



Dongfeng MHERO M817 Starts Presales at RMB 329,900 with Huawei Tech  


Dongfeng’s premium off-road brand MHERO has opened presales for the M817 PHEV, priced between RMB 329,900 and RMB 359,900 (≈USD 45,800–50,000). Co-developed with Huawei, the model debuts the Qiankun ADS 4.0 driver-assistance system and an integrated Oriental Eagle-Eye reconnaissance drone. Power comes from a 1.5T engine paired with electric motors delivering 505kW combined output, enabling a CLTC-certified range of 1,300 km. Approach/departure angles of 37°/33° and 850mm wading depth reinforce its extreme terrain capabilities.



2026 Haval DARGO Launches with Limited-Time Price from RMB 98,900  



Haval has introduced the 2026 DARGO SUV in three trims with official prices ranging from RMB 123,900 to RMB 149,900 (≈USD 17,200–20,800). A launch promotion offers entry at RMB 98,900 (≈USD 13,700). Powertrain options include a 135kW/275N·m 1.5T engine with 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, and a 175kW/385N·m 2.0T unit paired with a 9-speed wet DCT. The 2.0T variant features sixth-generation intelligent AWD, an electronically controlled rear differential lock, and terrain management system with eight modes (Standard/Sport/Eco/Snow/Mud etc.), supported by 200mm ground clearance and multi-terrain ABS calibration.
