XPeng Launches Refreshed P7 with 820km CLTC Range from RMB 219,800  


On August 27, XPeng debuted its comprehensively upgraded P7 sedan, priced between RMB 219,800 and RMB 259,800 (≈ USD 30,500 - USD 36,100), alongside the 750 AWD Wing Edition Ultra variant at RMB 301,800 (≈ USD 41,900). Enhancements span intelligence, powertrain, performance, and safety systems. The model features XPeng’s self-developed Turing AI chip delivering 2,250 TOPS total computing power, integrated with VLA autonomous driving and VLM cockpit AI models. The high-performance version accelerates 0-100km/h in 3.7 seconds and set a 1:38.767 lap record at Zhejiang International Circuit. Leveraging an 800V SiC platform, it achieves up to 820km CLTC range with 525km range recovery in 10-minute ultra-fast charging sessions.


Volvo Unveils All-New XC70 with 1,200km CLTC Range from RMB 299,900  


On August 27, Volvo globally premiered the all-new XC70, offering two PHEV variants: Long-Range FWD at RMB 299,900 (≈ USD 41,700) and Ultra-Long-Range AWD at RMB 329,900 (≈ USD 45,800) under limited pre-sale pricing. As the first model on Volvo’s new SMA hybrid architecture, it combines a dedicated hybrid engine, 3DHT transmission, and P1+P2+P4 electric motor system with CATL battery modules. CLTC comprehensive range exceeds 1,200km. The vehicle also introduces Volvo’s NPA intelligent pilot assist system for enhanced highway driving capabilities.


BYD Exports Thailand-Made EVs to European Markets  


BYD has initiated European exports from its Thailand manufacturing facility, according to disclosures from its Southeast Asian subsidiaries recently. A BYD-operated ocean carrier departed on August 25 carrying over 900 Dolphin compact electric crossovers destined for Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. This move aligns with BYD’s strategy to utilize Thailand as an export hub for global markets, while plans for vehicle assembly in Malaysia remain underway. The Thai plant represents BYD’s first Southeast Asian production base supporting right-hand-drive and international market demand.
