According to industry registration tracking reports published by research institution Dataforce on May 23, the sales volume of Chinese electric vehicles accounted for over 15% of the total European electric vehicle market in April. This achievement highlights strong consumer demand for electrified models manufactured in China. Combined battery electric vehicle (BEV) deliveries from BYD and Chery Automobile more than doubled year-on-year during the month, reaching a combined total of 38,000 units within the European region.

Historical data indicates that in 2021, Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers recorded monthly delivery volumes of only a few thousand units across Europe. This rapid market share expansion demonstrates an accelerated growth trajectory over a five-year period. The research report notes that vehicle fleets from Chinese brands are steadily approaching a 10% share of the overall comprehensive European passenger car market, representing an increasing competitive presence against traditional regional automotive legacy brands.

Dongfeng eπ M8 Flagship Large Six-Seater SUV Global Debut

Dongfeng Motor officially hosted the global premiere of its new strategic model, the eπ M8, on May 23. Positioned as a "Hua-style golden standard large six-seater" flagship SUV, the vehicle is developed to satisfy premium family mobility requirements. The eπ M8 is among the first production vehicles to be factory-equipped with the full Huawei Qiankun architecture, integrating the advanced Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 Pro driver assistance suite. Arcfox Launches Beta S3 Sedan with Battery Swapping Variants

BAIC’s electric vehicle division, Arcfox, officially launched the Beta S3 pure electric sedan on May 22, introducing eight unique configurations split between standard charging and battery swapping variants. The model carries a limited-time promotional price spectrum ranging from RMB 59,800 (USD 8,700) to RMB 120,800 (USD 17,500). Since the commencement of pre-sales on April 24, the vehicle series has accumulated over 30,000 retail orders. The aggressive entry pricing is achieved via a specialized "vehicle-battery separation" business model where users subscribe to monthly battery lease packages.

The Beta S3 features a 4,916 mm length and a 2,876 mm wheelbase, yielding an interior space utilization profile engineered with a 1.94 axis-to-height ratio. Mechanical capabilities include a 660 km operating range and an automated battery swap system that completes a full pack replacement cycle in 99 seconds. The interior features front seats capable of folding flat to a 180-degree configuration to establish a continuous 1.8-meter cabin lounge. For passenger safety, the vehicle is built around a triple-zero protective framework that incorporates an industry-first zero-drift tire blowout stability control system.
